Tis the season…for your favorite sweaters and boots, that is (and there’s no reason why you can’t make sure they’re trendy and fabulous)! I love to jazz up a plain winter ensemble with a geometric sweater, leather pant and amazing clutch. A chunky-heeled lace-up boot is the perfect shoe to keep this look preppy and chic.
Pants: Silvy Schimmel (similar looks for less HERE and HERE), Sweater: Forever21 (also love this one and this one by Alexander Wang), Bag: Francesca Evangelista, Boots: Alexander Wang (similar and both on sale HERE and HERE), Ring: Ippolita, old (similar version HERE).
Nothing beats being able to wear your favorite art (at least not for me, anyway), which is why I love rocking graphic tees from Shepard Fairey’s clothing line, OBEY. I’ve been a huge fan of Fairey’s work for years, so you can imagine how stoked I am that his clothing line is available online. Another plus? the quality of the t-shirts is excellent. For a casual day out in the city, I pair my favorite brand of jeans (AG) with a leather jacket and some high-top wedge sneaks (which I’m currently OBSESSED with).
T-shirt: OBEY (here’s another one that I LOVE), Pants: AG Jeans, Jacket: Zara (love this cropped version from ASOS), Sneakers: Steve Madden (similar version HERE that I also love), Earrings: ASOS (also love these by Eddie Borgo), Bag: Balenciaga, Nail Polish: “Butler Please” by Essie
There is one thing I love more than black, and that happens to be black with a pop of color. In this case, a pop of red is the perfect way to get you into the holiday spirit. I love to pair this adorable (and extremely comfortable) swing dress with this tweed and leather coat, black tights and black booties.
Dress: ASOS (I also LOVE this one from ASOS and this one from Rag & Bone), Coat: Zara (here’s the look for a little less from ASOS), Tights: ASOS, Booties: Miu Miu, old (here’s a similar pair from BCBG and another by Jessica Simpson), Earrings: Vintage Chanel (similar HERE and HERE), Nail Polish: “Butler Please” by Essie.
The skater dress is an essential item for every fall wardrobe. Plus, who wouldn’t love twirling around in one of these babies? They come in many shapes and colors and can be dressed up or down. In the winter, wear with tights and booties or heels, and for you ladies in warmer climates, you can throw on some cute flats and sunnies like I did in Miami.
Dress: ASOS (also love this one), Shoes: Schutz (similar look by Sam Edelman that I LOVE), Sunglasses: Prada, Bag, Chanel, Spike Bracelets: ASOS, Skull Bracelet: ASOS
You may have seen a hint of them this past spring and summer, but Peplums are sticking around as one of the hottest trends this fall. Here are three good reasons why: 1. they bring a classic look to any ensemble, 2. they’re slimming at the waist, 3. they can be dressed up or down. They’re also just plain adorable. The high waistline of the peplum elongates your body, so pairing with a slim-fitting pant or a knee-length skirt is the way to go. You can rock a plain peplum like this one or spice it up a bit by choosing a bold and colorful floral print.
Top: ASOS (also love these similar numbers from ASOS, Alice and Olivia, Dorothy Perkins, and this amazing Peter Pilotto splurge), Pants: BCBGMAXAZRIA, Boots: Miu Miu (here’s a similar pair from BCBGMAXAZRIA), Clutch: YSL (here’s a cheaper version by Vince Camuto that I LOVE), Bracelets: ASOS
I’ve always been a huge leather fan, and I’m pretty excited because it’s a huge trend right now. My favorite item of clothing to rock these days? My faux leather leggings. They’re amazing because they’re about a fifth of the price of leather pants, and they play the part perfectly. They can be dressed up or down, which makes them great, and they’re extremely comfortable. I love tucking mine into some amazing leather booties and wearing with a leather jacket.
Top: Zara, sold out (here’s another version from Zara), Jacket: Zara, Pants: BCBGMAXAZRIA, Boots: Miu Miu, old (here’s a similar pair from BCBGMAXAZRIA), Bag: Alexander Wang Rocco Duffel (black version here), Earrings: boutique, old (here’s a similar pair by Rachel Roy), Watch: Michael Kors.
